NLP - Simply Brilliant

NLP, or Neuro Linguistic Programming, isn't something I've ever really thought about. I kind of knew what it was, but didn't really appreciate it's benefits - nor did I understand the way it works.

A client introduced me to it. She mentioned that she'd started a practitioner course, and when she started to talk about the methods, and the way that she used it to benefit her in her every day life I just knew I needed to know more.

My very lovely client offered to walk me through a couple of exercises. The one that I've chosen to write about is called 'The circle of excellence'. How many of us are put in to situations every day that we find challenging? Most of us I think. This brilliant and deceptively simple exercise involves anchoring positive feelings in to a visualised circle, and then stepping in to it. As you step in you reinforce the positive feelings, taking on a much more positive mindset. I've been using if for a week and it's had a huge and very profound impact on the way I've approached many things. I'm intrigued to know more now, and can't wait for the next time I feel compelled to place myself in my own personal Circle of Excellence.
